I’m just a bit of a goober who gets a silly amount of pleasure from creating experiences that are as hot-dang slick as possible. I was an artist in my early years (and still try to be when I find the time) and have always had a knack for solving problems that others couldn’t. What I love about being a designer is I get to balance creativity and analytical thinking to craft experiences that make some small part of the world a smidge more pleasant than it might’ve been otherwise. That love spills out beyond digital experiences. I love writing things people enjoy reading. I love crafting spaces people enjoy being in. Or making playlists that set just the right mood for the situation. I may not be solving the world’s problems, but hey, as they say, focus on the things you can control!

My design philosophy.

Enthusiasm is key.

Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm. With every challenge, I actively seek to understand the core problem that needs solving so I can make informed decisions and build enthusiasm for creating the best experience.

Dream on. Also be pragmatic.

Dreamy thinking and getting far outside the box to find solutions to problems is an important step to innovation that really turns the dial. Finding a solution that is realistically shippable within time or resource constraints is even more critical.

The pursuit of connection.

Good design should connect each human not only with their purpose of using the product but also with that funny tickle of delight you get in your gut when something is just right. This happens when the humans building it are a tightly connected team.
